In 1996 Chris Barron created Profit Manager to measure his family farm cost-of-production. They were phasing out of pork production, and beginning to focus primarily on crops. Chris applied his extensive cost tracking in the livestock industry to create a new system of management in the row crops. It took them from average or “normal” decision makers, to informed and highly-qualified decision makers. It quickly became apparent through using Profit Manager there were many areas of improvement that directly affected the bottom line, and they discovered instantly that information was the key. You can’t improve what you don’t measure!

 Fast-forward through 25 years of experience and working with farmers everywhere. Today, Profit Manager helps hundreds of farms all over the United States and Canada make decisions in their operation. Profit manager was built by farmers, for farmers, and uses comprehensive data to help farmers make informed decisions, in a way that is easy to understand. Shay Foulk and Chris Barron use this tool to help farmers like you make important decisions in their operation. Profit Manager continues to be improved and updated, with our most recent update in the middle of 2021.
